One of my favorite parts of being a wedding planner is that I never stop being inspired.

This industry is filled with incredibly talented creatives who are constantly pushing the boundaries of design, hospitality, and guest experience. While planning weddings keeps me behind the scenes most weekends, there is something incredibly valuable about stepping into the role of guest, experiencing an event from the other side, and taking time to observe what makes a celebration truly memorable.

Recently, I had the opportunity to attend the second annual WIPA Nashville Gala, a beautiful evening designed to celebrate creativity, connection, and the incredible talent within the wedding industry.

For those who may not be familiar, WIPA (Wedding International Professionals Association) is an organization dedicated to educating, supporting, and connecting wedding professionals across the country. Through networking opportunities, educational events, and community building, WIPA creates spaces where industry creatives can learn from one another and continue elevating the standard of our work.

The WIPA Nashville Gala was held at the stunning 1 Hotel Nashville, a space known for its organic textures, thoughtful design, and connection to nature. The evening’s design, created by my mentor and coach Becky’s Brides, brought bold color and elevated details into the space through a unique palette of rich plum, sage, and olive tones.

Layered draping, incredible floral installations, and intentional design moments transformed the venue into an atmosphere that felt both luxurious and welcoming. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, not only for how it looked, but for how it made guests feel.

And that is what stood out to me most.

As planners, we spend so much time thinking about timelines, logistics, and execution. Those pieces are essential, but attending an event as a guest is a wonderful reminder that the ultimate goal is connection. The most memorable celebrations are the ones where guests feel comfortable, inspired, and genuinely cared for.

Beyond the beautiful design, the evening was filled with meaningful conversations and opportunities to connect with talented wedding professionals from across the Southeast. One of the highlights was finally getting to meet and celebrate with fellow planners from Becky’s mastermind after spending the previous six months learning and growing together virtually.

Those relationships are one of the greatest gifts of this industry.

I left Nashville feeling inspired, not just by the incredible creativity I witnessed, but by the reminder that we are always learning. Every event attended, every conversation shared, and every new perspective gained helps me bring more intention and thoughtfulness back to the weddings I have the honor of planning.
